Mission
The Center for Transforming Communities exists to foster, embody and promote the values, principles and practices that contribute to the emergence of God’s gift of shalom, experienced as a holistic, healing and distinctly alternative culture, in the heart of diverse neighborhoods and communities across the Memphis Metro area.
Strategies
- Engage communities and local congregations through a variety of strategies for relationship building, community building, and community development aimed at establishing a framework for shalom to emerge.
- Inspire individuals and communities to envision an alternative reality and future of shalom through connection, education and experience (lectures, social networking, immersion experiences, etc.)
- Connect individuals and neighborhoods to tools, resources and expertise through a collaborative network of resource persons and organizations committed to shalom.
- Embody the values, principles and practices of shalom leading the way for ecumenical and interfaith initiatives to revitalize communities
